Aug 12 - Biscardi #66B Clean Sweep Saturday Night!
Mark Biscardi in his black number 66B M & M Chassis was the first one across the start/finish line to take the checkered flag which was also next to a swaying yellow flag marking the color of the night. The scheduled 20 lap or 20 minute main ran into a lot of cautions as the 24 dwarf car field attempted to thrill the crowd. On lap 13 the track had no other option due to time restraints then to call the caution riddled race which left Biscardi with his first win with BAD and giving him a clean sweep of the nights activities which included a heat win and the trophy dash as well and making him the first member of BAD to do that this season.
Lap after lap last seasons BAD champion Ryan Diatte, making his second visit to the track this season, gave Mark everything he could handle, but Mark, last seasons rookie of the year, held off every challenge and on this night Mark was not only good but all smiles afterwards. Rounding out the top five behind Biscardi and Diatte were John Wear, Gene Pires, and Marty Weisler.
Fielding the biggest car count of the season, 33 cars showed up to race which lead to a B main being scheduled for the cars that did not qualify through the heats into the A main event. This race was perhaps the best finish to a race this season. It was also riddled with its fair share of cautions but battling wheel to wheel to get themselves in the main event John Prentice of Aptos in his newly skinned 55B car and Shawn Jones of San Jose in his recently repaired 24B, who started last on the 17 car field, gave the packed house a thrilling finish as Prentice beat out Jones by 0.061 thousandths of a second at the line as they split Rich Wilson in car number 18B, who had been the leader to that point, exiting off of turn 4 and drag racing down the front stretch.
As mentioned before Biscardi picked up more hardware in the 4 lap Trophy dash And 8 lap heat winners were Wear, Biscardi, Diatte and Gilbert Toste of Gilroy. Next up for the Bay Area Dwarf Cars will be August 21st at Ocean Speedway.
